DESIGN FEATURES AND EMC-CHARACTERISTICS OF FUTURE EQUIPMENT OF 5G MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

V.O. Tikhvinskiy, JSC NIITC, deputy general director for innovative technologies, MTUCI, professor, Dr.Sci. (Econ.); vtniir@mail.ru

To solve a large number of tasks related to the future implementation of 5G mobile communications, such as the regulation of the use of the radio frequency spectrum, licensing, the development of radio equipment and solution of intersystem tasks of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is necessary to know the technical and EMC-characteristics recognized by the leading international communication organizations: ITU, CEPT, 3GPP, ETSI, etc. During 2017 this task has been solved within the framework of ITU and 3GPP working groups activity, but these characteristics differ in terms of the scope of the parameters and their quantitative values. The article deals with a comparative analysis of the technical and EMC-characteristics of 5G radio equipment and the reasons that caused these differences.
Keywords: ITU, 3GPP, electromagnetic compatibility, 5G RAN, 5G Core, IMT-2020.

BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS WITH ADAPTIVE AMPLITUDE MODULATION

M.A. Bykhovskiy, MTUCI, professor, Dr.Sci. (Tech.); bykhmark@gmail.com

In this article the author proposes a new method of signal design. The method is intended for signals, belonging to the class of multidimensional surface-spherical ensembles of signals (SSES), which allow to create highly reliable communication systems for message transmission. Such systems possess high power and spectral efficiency which is close to the limit established by Shannon. The new kind of signal design is named as adaptive amplitude modulation (AAM). Formulas that allow to determine the probability of error in demodulation of the received signals and also to estimate power and spectral efficiency of communication systems which use the signal ensembles with AAM are obtained. The results presented in the article allow to choose parameters of signal ensembles with AAM in such a way that, on the one hand, the communication system would provide the demanded reliability of communication, defined by the probability of erroneous reception of signals and ii) its power and spectral efficiency would be close to the «ideal» limit of Shannon’s system, and on the other hand, the complexity of technical implementation of the communication system (which depends on the duration of signals) would keep to a minimum. It is noted that in such communication systems high reliability of reception of the transmitted messages can be ensured without application of error-correcting codes. It allows to significantly simplify the technical implementation of these systems.

MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF PLANNING OF THE ITS NETWORK, FUNCTIONING ON THE BACKGROUND OF PRIMARY NETWORK

A.S. Shchesniak, ITMO University, wireless communications department, postgraduate;
anna. schesnyak@scaegroup.com

The main focus of this work is concerned with the aggregated heterogeneous radio network for intelligent transportation system (ITS), working as a secondary service in the same spectral band with a primary fixed network. A mathematical model for secondary network coverage
area evaluation, taking into account conditions of electromagnetic compatibility, is proposed. Mechanisms for decreasing secondary network influence to the primary network by means of intellectual switching between nodes depending on the vehicle mobility, transceiver height, and antenna characteristics are discussed. The possibility of both networks collaborative operation with acceptable reduction of primary network capacity is shown.

Eu.A. Kamnev, MAI, department of theoretical radio engineering, postgraduate; ekam91@yandex.ru

The computer simulation model of the four-element adaptive antenna array is developed. Interference immunity of adaptive antenna array in conditions of the influence of spatially distributed jammers is investigated. Two scenarios of jamming of adaptive antenna array by ground-based and air-based jammers are considered. In the case of ground-based jammers, high requirements for their energy are ascertained due to the impact on the sidelobes of the radiation pattern of the non-adaptive antenna array and the improvement by signal processing up to 5 dB.

It is shown that the digital economy development in Russia is due to the inclusion in global information systems. By 2020 their transport network will be made of digital transmission systems with mobile networks on the final stage. It is proved that at the first stage of the two-stage deployment of such networks, there will be a general transition to 4G networks and selective deployment of 5G networks. The comparison results of the electromagnetic environment on a building roof, carrying systems of panel antennas for 4G and 3G networks, are presented. It was revealed that at the same transmitter power the maximum energy flux density for the LTE network is practically 3 times less than for the GSM network. It is concluded that if the height of antenna installation is more than 5 m above the rooftop, the roof can be considered safe for people for an unlimited time.
